What clinical applications does each light mode serve?
- White (6500K): General physical examination, pupil reactivity assessment, wound and laceration inspection, oral cavity examination, and tissue color assessment.
- Yellow (3200K): Reduces glare and blue-light eye fatigue during prolonged examinations. Provides improved contrast for examining blood vessels, bruising, and certain dermatological conditions under warm illumination.
- UV (395nm): Fluorescence screening for fungal infections (e.g., tinea capitis, Microsporum), corneal abrasions (fluorescein stain excitation), porphyrin-based skin condition detection, and dental plaque fluorescence assessment.
How do I switch between the light modes?
Press and release the tail switch to cycle through the three modes in sequence: White → Yellow → UV → Off. To quickly turn off from any mode, press and hold the tail switch for 2 seconds.
Can the ML02 be sterilized for clinical use?
The aluminum alloy body and IP54 sealing allow cleaning with 70% isopropyl alcohol wipes, mild disinfectant sprays, or hypochlorite wipes (diluted). Do not immerse, autoclave, or use high-temperature sterilization methods. The non-porous aluminum surface is resistant to common hospital-grade disinfectants.
What does the indicator light mean during operation?
- Blue light steady: Normal operation, battery sufficient.
- Red light steady: Low voltage — please charge soon.
- Red light flashing: Critical low voltage — the flashlight will shut down automatically to protect the battery.
- During charging: Red steady = charging, Blue steady = fully charged.
Is the pocket clip removable?
Yes. The stainless steel pocket clip can be slid off the body for cleaning or if the clinician prefers bedside storage without the clip. The clip is designed for secure attachment to standard white coat pockets, scrub pockets, or belt loops.
